Wedding songs of 2015
UPDATE APRIL 2015: Added in a few honourable mentions of tracks at the bottom of the top ten list of songs that are proving popular so far in 2015!
Please leave your suggestions in the comments at the bottom of the page if there’s something we missed! Any ideas greatly appreciated.
1. Ed Sheeran – Thinking out loud
After seeing his appearance on the Late Late Toy Show it turns out he is actually a cool guy! And his music is not bad either! ‘Thinking out Loud’ has the potential to be a number 1 wedding hit song. “We found love right where we are”. (Update – 9 days into January 2015 and Ed is gathering much more momentum with a Dublin show coming up. Bride’s and Grooms all over Ireland will be giving serious consideration to including Sheeran to their wedding soundtrack)
2. John Legend – All of me
This is the top wedding song choice of summer 2014 as a popular first dance song or as part of the wedding video soundtrack. It was written by Legend and sung to his wife on his wedding day. It will remain popular during 2015…
3. Chantal Kreviazuk, The Notebook – Feels like home
What a song! Not a new one either but gaining ground and starting to appear more at weddings. Hast to be considered strong for any wedding day.
4. At last – Etta James
A classic song but a lovely easy listening melody and great to fit in with a vintage or classic themed wedding but will complement any day. “At last, My love has come along, My lonely days are over, And life is like a song”
5. You Are The Best Thing – Ray LaMontagne
Another beautiful slow dance tune. It’s on the go a few years but great easy listening.
6. You’ve got the love – Florence + the Machine
Popular band and cracking tune but doesn’t often feature at weddings. Could 2015 be the year?!
7. Adele – Make you feel my love
A Bob Dylan cover but her voice works wonders on this classic tune. A top, top, tune that should make it’s way onto more wedding videos. Will be a timeless classic but still has a modern twist.
8. Bruno Mars – Just the way you are
Ok this is a staple of many a wedding video, but it’s lively, has a catchy beat and nice lyrics.
9. Stay with me – Sam Smith
Nice easy listening melody and good lyrics should make this chart topper make it’s way into many dvds.
10. Budapest by George Ezra
Catchy tune and a little more modern sounding and upbeat that some of the classic songs.
